Delaware County Jail Roster
The official Delaware County Sheriff inmate lookup is the main public roster for current county jail custody. It is a free page on the sheriff site, with no login or fee observed during the research pass. The roster is run by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, which operates the Delaware County Jail at the Justice and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie.
The roster is not a statewide criminal-history search. It is a current jail lookup for people held locally after arrest, while awaiting court, serving a local sentence, or waiting for transfer. A person sentenced to state prison may later appear in the Indiana DOC locator. A federal prisoner belongs in the BOP locator, and an immigration detainee belongs in ICE ODLS. Indiana SAVIN at indianasavin.in.gov is a custody-notification channel.
Search Delaware County Inmates
The Delaware County roster has one search box and a Show more control. It does not show separate advanced filters for booking date, facility, charge type, race, sex, housing unit, bond range, or release status. The page script searches first and last name cells, so start with the simplest spelling and keep a second search path ready if the name does not appear.
- Open the sheriff inmate lookup and scan the first visible roster rows.
- Type a first or last name in the single Search box.
- Select Search and review the filtered table.
- Clear the search and use Show more if the first result set misses the person.
- Click the row to open the popup with age, inmate number, booking date/time, total bond, scheduled release date, and charge rows.
- Call the jail, search MyCase, or use IDOC, BOP, ICE, or SAVIN if no current jail record appears.
Delaware County Roster Fields
The public search form is simple enough that a missed result is often a search-method issue rather than a final custody answer. Try name variants, clear the field, and expose additional rows before moving to phone or records-request channels.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search | Text | No or unspecified | Single box searched against first-name and last-name cells. |
| Search | Button or link | Not applicable | Runs the visible roster filter. |
| Show more | Button or link | Not applicable | Shows more roster rows, ten at a time in the page script. |

The roster's table-first layout is useful for current jail checks, but it does not replace court records or state prison records after a case moves forward.
Delaware County Inmate Profile
Public Delaware County inmate records from the sheriff roster show a limited jail profile. The captured field inventory found no mugshot slot, no housing unit, no date of birth, no home address, no physical description, no arresting agency, no court date, and no per-charge bond field. The charge rows list legal details, but a roster charge is not always the final charge filed by the prosecutor.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Inmate number | Public jail identifier used by the table and popup. |
| Name | First, middle, and last name fields. |
| Age | Age shown in the popup, not a full date of birth. |
| Booking date/time | Jail intake date and time for the current booking record. |
| Scheduled release date | Projected release field if available, with blank values shown as N/A. |
| Total bond amount | Single total bond field, not a detailed per-charge schedule. |
| Charges | Rows with Statute, Description, Case number, and Status. |
Delaware County Custody Channels
Use the system that matches the person's custody stage. A recent arrest usually begins with the Delaware County Jail. Court filings and prosecutor charges then appear through court systems, not the jail roster alone. Sentenced state custody moves to IDOC. Federal and immigration custody are separate from both the sheriff and IDOC.

Delaware County Booking Records
The sheriff jail page says every person arrested in Delaware County is brought to the Delaware County Jail for incarceration. The public roster fields show the record that follows intake: identity fields, inmate number, booking date/time, bond, scheduled release, and charge rows. The jail page also says money received during book-in is credited to the inmate account and hygiene packs are issued at book-in.
Booking is not the same as a conviction. After police investigation and arrest, the prosecutor reviews the facts and law to decide what charges are appropriate. A booking charge on the jail roster can differ from the final formal charge filed in court. For filed charges, hearings, warrants, commitments, jailer's releases, and certified copies, use court records after a jail arrest and the clerk process.
Delaware County Jail Visits
No current official Delaware County Sheriff visitation schedule, visitor approval process, ID rule, dress code, child-visitor rule, video-visit rule, or fee schedule was located in the research pass. Do not import rules from third-party jail sites or other Delaware Counties. Confirm visit rules directly with the jail before traveling or telling a child or out-of-town visitor that a visit is allowed.

Delaware County Records Requests
APRA is the fallback for existing records that are not posted online. Indiana law requires a request to identify the record with reasonable particularity. Send the request to the office that owns the record. Jail custody and booking records usually route to the sheriff or jail. Court records, certified copies, commitments, warrants, and jailer's releases route to the clerk. Prosecutor records route to the prosecutor, with investigatory-record limits where they apply.
The Delaware County Prosecutor APRA page requires written requests on the prosecutor request form, returned by mail or in person. It lists copy fees of $0.10 per one-sided standard page and $5 for CD, DVD, or diskette copying, with payment in advance by certified check, money order, Visa, or MasterCard payable to the Delaware County Clerk's Office.
Note: Confirm current custody with the jail before sending funds, making travel plans, or relying on a scheduled release date.
